Before May 2017, Members could make a request to ask an Urgent Question in Plenary, but only if the Llywydd (or the Deputy Presiding Officer if a question related to the Assembly Commission) was satisfied that the question was of urgent public importance. This procedure was replaced in May 2017 with the introduction of Emergency Questions and a weekly slot every Wednesday in Plenary for Topical Questions.
