Care Assessment (Wales) Bill
Policy Objectives of the proposed Bill:
The Bill will reform the care assessment process to focus on personal care need.
Support has been received for improvements in the care assessment process from charities such as Alzheimer’s Society.
Consultation:
The Plaid Cymru Care Commission reviewed the whole care sector from July 2018, with 29 speakers providing evidence and 34 written documents received. This included a review of the care assessment process.
During the summer of 2021 the member (Rhys ab Owen MS) discussed with constituents, other elected members, charities and professional bodies about the need for reform.
