Free Provision of Period Products (Wales) Bill
Policy Objectives of the proposed Bill:
The purpose of the Bill would be to:
- Ensure that everyone in Wales who menstruates can have reasonably convenient access to period products, free of charge, as and when they are required. This includes visitors to Wales for the duration of their stay.
- Give the Welsh Government the power to ensure that devolved Welsh authorities provide free period products by law;
- Ensure that schools, colleges and universities offer a range of period products available for free, in their toilets including reusable products.
- Build upon the work being done by Welsh Government and ensure that current provisions are enshrined in law.
