All of our activities as part of your visit to the Senedd are linked to the new Welsh curriculum. Discover the links for each of our sessions.

If I was a Member of the Senedd

Pupils will role play being Members of the Senedd and complete a series of challenges throughout their day.

On a guided tour of the building, pupils will learn about the sustainability features of the Senedd, meet their Members (if available) and learn more about the work of an MS.

Pupils will debate an issue, for example:

  • My Wales, My Planet
  • Fitness and Wellbeing
  • My Dreams
  • Science and Technology

Schools can also request to debate a topic of their choice.

Pierhead (Past)

Discover how the building and its inhabitants helped shape Cardiff Bay from the 1880s -1950s.

 

Learners will complete an activity booklet to help them explore the history of Tiger Bay and the Docks.

I can describe the different ways that countries and societies, including Wales have been governed in the past and present.

 

Pierhead (Future)

As informed citizens learners will think critically about problems and issues in society, have an appreciation of sustainable development and explore how they can play and active role in shaping Wales for the future through the lens of the Well Being and Future Generations ( Wales ) Act.
